Hall Update

Image
The hall had dirty wall, a dirty orange colour carpet, dark wood banisters, skirting, doors and door frames. I wanted to create a fresh welcoming hallway which was colourful and bright and I'm pretty pleased how it has turned out. BEFORE AFTER Painted the door furniture silver - a quick cheap way to make it look cleaner and brighter Added a large mirror to reflect light and covered the ugly radiator with a cover which also added space for some decor Painted door frames, skirting, banisters white Adding Colour!! AFTER Used sticky back plastic on the floor - again once I manage to save some funds will replace with proper hard wood floor!

Bathroom Update

Image
I always hated the bathroom from the moment we moved in. Moving from a flat which had a newly tiled fitted floor to ceiling and new bath suite, this bathroom seemed really grimy. BEFORE AFTER Painted the blue border tiles using a grey tile paint and painted all the yellowy woodwork white Used the Wood Effect Sticky Back Plastic to cover the rough edges of the mirror (and on the floor too, although not sure how long this will last especially with my 2 boys creating a tsunami everytime they have a bath!!)

WC Update

Image
I went for the smallest room in the house next as this was surely going to be the quickest, although not being a simple square shape wall, it took a little longer than anticipated! Before After went for a grey and yellow theme - put the sticky back plastic over the tiles to quickly cover them up although will need to re-tile properly at some point!

Kitchen Update

Image
Being the most used room in the house, I opted to update the kitchen first. Not being able to afford a new replacement kitchen, I used a sticky back plastic to cover the worktop and the cupboards and replaced the door handles. Tiled over the existing ghastly red wall tiles with a new grey more mordern tile, renewed the floor grout by using a grout restorer pen. Painted all the dark wood (and the red pipe) a clean white. Still want to wallpaper the arched wall (may get a professional to help with this once I have more funds as it doesn't look like the easiest wall to wallpaper, especially on what will be my first wallpapering attempt) and finish painting the dark wood door (or may completely remove this) Here are the before, during and after photo's! Before Pics During - Gloss White Sticky Back Plastic on Drawers and Cupboards and replacing Handles Using Wood Effect Sticky Back Plastic on Worktop and tiling over existing tiles
